Amazon’s textbook rental program may be a better bet than other book rental options
Amazons textbook rental service may be better than other rental options, according to a recent survey.
According to the results of a survey conducted by iRobot, the online retail giant, more than 80% of Amazon’s customers have been looking for textbook rentals for the past few years.iRobot’s survey of 2,000 consumers across the US revealed that the Amazon platform is currently the most popular option for book rental, beating out a number of other options including eBooks, iBooks, and Amazon Kindle.
The survey also revealed that only 38% of respondents said that they would consider booking their textbooks using Amazon’s online textbook rental portal.
However, the majority of respondents did indicate that they had a specific preference for one or more of the aforementioned services.
iRobots survey found that while people prefer renting books via the eBooks portal, they were also open to renting textbooks from a library, bookstore, or bookstore through iRobotic’s platform.
According iRobotics survey results, more respondents said they had used the Amazon textbooks platform compared to other book rentals options.
For example, 74% of those surveyed indicated that they were willing to rent their textbooks through iBooks compared to 52% who would have preferred renting through a library or bookseller.
Additionally, 59% of iRoboton respondents said their library had a textbook rental agreement with Amazon, while only 33% said that the same was true of a bookstore.
